How to measure pore pressure within a rock stratum. If you put you standpipe, it will not give you anything unless its tip coincides with an open joint.

First you have to define rock.  If you are talking about sold unweathered rock, I'd agree.  If you talking about sandstone, I would not agree - other than to agree that the primary permeability and the secondary permeability will be different.
