Drawing Units

(OP)
I need to add "m" to the dual dimensions in my drawing. The first dimension displays: " for inches, but nothing for the second. This is an important thing to add because our company is in the beginning stages of converting some products to metric and the machinists need to get used to seeing it in print. I've spent some time looking for the setting in Solidworks options, but no luck so far. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? There are quite a few dimensions in this document, so any kind of setting fix would be ideal. But I would be interested in manual fixes as well.
Thanks,

RE: Drawing Units

DOn't train your machinists in the wrong way.  It is not a standard to put any metric unit identifiers in a dual dimensioned drawing.  Simply put the metric values in square brackets----> [9.5]

RE: Drawing Units

Better yet just use only metric dimensions and have a prominent note on the drawing stating "All Dimensions Are In Millimetres"

BTW, are you really working in metres?

cheers

RE: Drawing Units

I take back what I posted!

Quote (ASME Y14.5-1994):

1.5.3 Identification of Linear Units
On drawings where all dimensions are either in millimeters or inches, individual identification of linear units is not required.  However, the drawing shall contain a note stating UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, ALL DIMENSIONS ARE IN MILLIMETERS (or IN INCHES, as applicable).

Quote (ASME Y14.5-1994):

1.5.3.1 Combination SI (Metric) and US Customary Linear Units
Where some inch dimensions are shown on a millimeter-dimensioned drawing, the abbreviation IN. shall follow the inch values.  Where some millimeter dimensions are shown on an inch-dimensioned drawing, the symbol mm shall follow the millimeter values.
