non linear geometric

non linear geometric

(OP)
Hallo everybody,

I want to try to make a non linear geometric analysis with abaqus. I have a distribution of stresses and I would like to apply a Load step by step in order to see how the load is going to redistribute the stresses every step.
Is it possible to make a non linear for different step load?
I try to search on guide but I didn't find nothing helpfull.

Thanks,
Albert

RE: non linear geometric

Just put NLGEOM as an option on the *step card.

Dear corus,

thanks for the advice. I would like to ask if there is a way to apply different load with the step. what I want to do is make a first step with a certain load and the following step with another load that is applied to the previous deformed shape. I try but it give me only separete cases without considering the effects of the previous step. I am doing something wrong?

Thanks again,
Albert

RE: non linear geometric

The load is always applied to the previous results. I'm not sure how you've managed to reset it so that it doesn't consider the previous results.
