Problem with I-Deas Model Solution
Problem with I-Deas Model Solution
(OP)
Hi guys,
I'm using I-Deas for my FEA project at uni....have this problem when i get into model solution and try to solve the meshed model. The s/w bombs out giving me this message "I-DEAS Programming Warning APLUS Internal programming error 15101 in routine MSGQNL MESSAGE ID: 2990 , 19".
Does anyone have any clue as to what it might be all about?
Cheers

RE: Problem with I-Deas Model Solution
Basically, your model should be alright, according to my own experience with I-DEAS the error message is due to a programme error. That happens even to the best CAE system...
You might want to try the following:
1. Delete your solution set. Save the model and create a new solution set (with the same settings as before). Try to run the model solve again. Most likely, it'll work out perfectly. (Well, don't ask me why...)
2. If that doesn't work, export your complete model (including the FE-model and everything else) into a universal file. You could delete the solution set beforehand, because as far as I can say that causes all the trouble. Create a completely new model file, import the universal file, create a new solution set if necessary and try running the solve again.
3. There's a special I-DEAS forum on Eng-Tips with dozens of I-DEAS experts around, so for the next time.....
Please let me know if that was any help for your problem!
Cheers,
Daniel
RE: Problem with I-Deas Model Solution
thanks for replying....err the first suggestion u made , well that couldnt be done, bcos everytime i open the file i had to make a new solution set and then run the solve, so each time i did that i got the same problem. hmm suggestion 2 looked good, i got almost halfway solving it...but then had other problems :( .
hmm wasnt this question more of finite element than I-Deas? ;)
u sure were good help mate thanks a lot...well i'm just a basic user...so im gonna play around with the universal file u suggested i create, and play around with it, see how it works out..thanks again mate
