Opening STEP file assy's
(OP)
V15 Import problem.
Any idea why when I import a STEP file assy, I can't see some of the individual components in the assy but I do see them if I open them up by themselves. Is it because they are part copies?? If I create a draft of the assy, all the components show up to.... Is there some sort of setting I need to change???
Thanks for the help

Feature Recognizer
The Solid Edge Feature Recognizer is included with Solid Edge Classic.
Feature Recognizer adds parametric feature modeling intelligence to translated data, and supports interactive, automatic, or combined modes for converting 3D models to Solid Edge format. The Feature Recognizer allows editing of imported designs using Solid Edge feature-based design tools.
Automatic and Interactive Modes
The Solid Edge Feature Recognizer supports interactive, automatic, or combined modes. In Automatic Feature Recognition, the Solid Edge Feature Recognizer automatically tries to identify certain feature types in the model. This does not require any user input and the software uses its own intelligence to recognize the features. If unrecognizable geometry is encountered, Solid Edge creates a Boolean feature for the problematic geometry and continues.
Feature Recognizer adds the following feature types to imported geometry:
* Protrusion
* Cutout
* Revolved Protrusion
* Revolved Cutout
* Hole
* Draft
* Chamfer
* Rib
* Pattern
* Round
* Boolean
* Web by Network
* Shell Features
RE: Opening STEP file assy's
V15 might have it, I don't know but for V15 it it's an
Addon you have to pay for. Also with the new scheme
you have to pay: the Classic ist somewhat higher in
price and maintenace than the foundation which lacks
FR and other things (VisualStudio+, Engineering Reference ...
