Rest button with vee groove

Rest button with vee groove

I am designing a kinematic mount using tooling components.  I am looking for a rest button with a vee groove to locate a ball nose in one dimension.  I looked at the usual suppliers like Carr-Lane and Reid and they only carry plain rest buttons.  Does anybody know of a tooling component supplier that carries rest buttons with a vee groove?

Many thanks,

Timelord

RE: Rest button with vee groove

By "vee groove", do you mean a conical recess?  If so, you might take a look under "ball detents" in the Carr-Lane catalog and see if that might work.

eromlignod,

I am using a ball detent (conical recess) for the primary locator.  I am looking for a rest button with a liner vee groove for the secondary locator.  About 15 years ago I designed something very similar and I recall using a rest button with a linear vee groove.  I just cannot seem to find the supplier that I got them from.

Thanks,

Timelord
