Ultrasonic cleaning elasomers

Ultrasonic cleaning elasomers

Hi all -
I need to pick an elastomer that can be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath. The elastomer is for a diaphragm valves. Any ideas? Somebody mentioned teflon will take to ultrasonic cleaning.
Thanks in advance!
Bill

RE: Ultrasonic cleaning elasomers

Most elastomers should be able to be cleaned with an ultrasonic bath.  The chemicals (solvents, detergents, etc.) and temperature likely will need closer scrutiny.

Cory

Hi Cory - thanks for the quick response. We have studies in place to determine detergent chemistry and concentration. My concern was whether the elastomers (epdm, plat cured silicon, teflon, etc) would absorb vibration and thus negate the scrubbing effect of the ultrasonics. Are you aware of any resource that may discuss this topic?

Thanks!!
Bill
