.7 Volt diode drop

.7 Volt diode drop

Hello all, Im currently working try to take current measurments off of several motors and etc. I have a Hall effect current sensing ring that was found cheap at digikey. Problem being tha the unit that recieves the input on this unit will only accept a DC input so we installed a diode and a cap to rectify the voltage but the .7 volts that are being droped is too much of my signal as it is only 4.7 volts to begin with any suggestions

RE: .7 Volt diode drop

Hall Effect sensors are available with a DC voltage or current output proportional to the rms value of the primary current. Why not just buy the right device for the job from the start?

... or failing that use a resistive network to level shift the current so it is always positive.

Logbook how would this work?
