appreciate anyone who can assist - Based in Europe, we have been requested to install a piece of bespoke industrial automation in USA, for a Zone rated ClassII Div II Group G. What standard (s) do I need, where best to purchase, any other usefull information in applying the standards.

                 Thanks in advance.

RE: NEC Class II Group II Group G

The National Electrical Code (NEC) is NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Agency).  The current code is 2005 with the 2008 being issued in about August.  Typically the contract applies the code version applicable when the contract is signed.  Begin reading article 501 for Division 2 locations.

Other standards pertaining to the area classification include API RP 500 and NFPA 499 if applicable to combustible dust.
