Landing Gears Real World - Shock Absorber models for servicing

Landing Gears Real World - Shock Absorber models for servicing

Landing Gears Real World - Shock Absorber models for servicing

(OP)
Dear All(wktaylor I would appreciate your contribution)

I am involved in the definition of servicing procedures for 2 stages shock absorber for Nose and Main landing gear for small aircraft. I encountered several problems during the correlation between theoretical and experimental spring curves. I would like to account for realistic effects, like oil bulk modulus, temperature, foaming , friction etc.. but I did not find any information in famous references as Conway or Currey. The lack of a proper theoretical model results in a problematic definition of servicing procedures. I should provide the P-T curves for stage 1 and 2 and tolerances(always forgotten in design manuals) as well as strut clearance when the aircraft is on groud!. I found an article for A320 series landing gears by Mr Trevor Evans (UK) wich explains the procedure for setting pressures. I would need the reference for such a definition. I can do it considering ideal gas and frictionless shock strut but then the problem will come back when they try to set-up the landing gears based on my data!

The second point regards servicing procedures: I would like to define a procedure for checking oil level and pressures when the landing gears are installed and for refilling in case the oil level is incorrect.
Third point: How to avoid entrained gas bubbles without using special devices or equipment? Is it possible to do an oil refilling when the LG are installed?

Can anybody help me?
