Demister in a KO vessel upstream of incinerator, critical?

Demister in a KO vessel upstream of incinerator, critical?

Demister in a KO vessel upstream of incinerator, critical?

Hi, I would like to know:

How critical is the need of a demister in a KO vessel upstream of incinerator?

The liquid content is about 0.32% of the feed.

Is it a good practice to have a demister or not?

Thanks for your time.

Jenny

I forgot to add that this vessel is downstream of a amine regeneration drum.

Do you believe in the possibility of foam accumulation downstream? Do I need the demister as an extra safeguard?

Thanks for your responses.

A demister sounds like a good idea.  You could experience some liquid carryover during foaming or other upsets, and amine in your gas stream to the incinerator can plug the burner tips with amine salts.

Is this acid gas to go to a Claus plant or just an incinerator?

we have almost the same incinerator D/S amine unit i think you dont need that demister. to prevent liquid carry over you can put HHL trip to trip incinerator

Just an incinerator.

We decided to included the demisters in the final design as an extra safeguard.

Thanks for your responses.
