Importing Data into a Pro/Table Pattern, Rounds to 3 decimal places

Importing Data into a Pro/Table Pattern, Rounds to 3 decimal places

Importing Data into a Pro/Table Pattern, Rounds to 3 decimal places

(OP)
Hi,

I created a table pattern at the part level. I formatted a text file and saved it as .ptb to import into the pattern table (as desribed by Hora in thread554-11277: Using Excel to create/modify pattern tables?).

My problem is that when the file is read into Pro/Engineer, the values are all rounded to 3 decimal places. Is there a way to keep this from happening, or to increase the number of decimal places?

thanks,
David Garber

RE: Importing Data into a Pro/Table Pattern, Rounds to 3 decimal places

It's a shot in the dark, but before defining the pattern, go into the dimension properties for all of the dims in your pattern table and change the accuracy. Pro/E might be rounding the values to the accuracy of the dimensions.

Thanks justkeepgiviner,

That is exactly right. Pro/E was rounding to the accuracy of the dimension property. And you can actually change it even after creating the pattern.

Thanks again...
