(OP)
My PC recently locked as it was shutting down (good old XP!!), so I had to manually power down. When I switched it back on it comes up with the options for safe reboot, last know good config or start normally. None of which work and the machine just keeps trying to start windows and then rebooting and coming up with the same screen as before. Safe mode comes up with some repeating messages about disk(0)idisk(0)partitions(2) and referes to various sys files in system32.
I can boot to MS-Dos from a floppy but then can't access any drive other than the a:. How can I get onto my c: drive to at least try and re-run the windows setup or the in built Hewlett Packard recovery programme?
