Error dynamic

Error dynamic

(OP)
Hello,

I'am a new user and I have this error message in dynamic/explicit mode :

The ratio of deformation speed to wave speed exceeds 1.0000 in at least one element. This usually indicates an error with the model definition. Additional diagnostic information may be found in the message file.

I'm sure that my model is correctly defined but it seems that the speed is too high...

Can you help me please?
Thanks!

RE: Error dynamic

I haven't used abq-explicit that much but a usual problem in explicit solvers are that the shortest element side determine the time step of the analysis. It sounds like your error could depend on that.
This has to do with the wavepropagation speed through the material that you use. in other words, double check that you don't have any elements that are very small compared to your general mesh, verify that the density is reasonable high and that the material stiffness is ok.
