gas fired air conditioning
gas fired air conditioning
(OP)
is there anybody who could tell me how to determine or check the ammonia level in a gas fired chiller? and if ever there is a need to add more how should i charge it with ammonia? is it the same as refrigerant with vapor and liquid side too?

RE: gas fired air conditioning
Charging a system requires a precise mix of water, ammonia and hydrogen. If you haven't had formal training in this and years of experience, I wouldn't even try.
I take it it's a Servel unit? If so make sure the solution pump, fluid pump, burner and all controls are doing what they should before you jump the gun. That's unless you know there is a leak for sure.
RE: gas fired air conditioning
The adsorption cooling cycle was invented by Ferdinand Carre in 1846. He also developed a device to make ice, which was used during the Civil War. Albert Einstein did create and patent a gas-fired refrigeration device, but not until the 1920's.
Sorry, history geek.
