SS 304L Substitution with SS201LN

SS 304L Substitution with SS201LN

(OP)
We supply equipment to the paper industry and use SS304L and 316L exclusively.  We have been approached to use cheaper SS201LN and AL2003.  No problems structurally, but, anti-corrosion has me worried.
How will this compare when exposed to caustic boil-outs + chlorides/chlorines and various salts [temperatures up to 200F]?
Allegheny Ludlum is really pushing these.

RE: SS 304L Substitution with SS201LN

In terms of pitting resistance 201LN is a slight step down from 304.  An alternate that is a little better than 304 would be LDX2101.
And AL-2003 is a slight step up from 316L.
In any of the cases the alternate alloys that you are looking at have higher base prices.  Unless you can reduce metal thickness and offset the base price difference then you will need to watch the surcharges.  Someday Ni prices will drop (a couple of years?) and you may need to switch back.
