How to simulate a flash separator?

How to simulate a flash separator?

How to simulate a flash separator?

(OP)
Hi, I am trying to simulate a Flash Separator using Hysys Software, but I just could find a simple separator in it.
The inlet is natural gas and I have its properties and composition.
I will appreciate your help.
Thanks
K.S.

RE: How to simulate a flash separator?

Hysys does the thermodynamic in the streams (and all the time, you dont need to "start" the simulation). Atatch a drum to a stream with 2 phases and the vapour goes out the top and the liq. out the botrom (a 3 phase is also available).

If your steam only have 1 phase then all of the steam will go through the top or bottom stream attached to the drum.

Anyway: Try study the manual and tutorials.

Best Regards

Morten

Morten, thanks a lot . I read Hysys tutorial, but I could not find an exact information.

RE: How to simulate a flash separator?

HI 1080847,

A flash separator for a liquid at it's bubble point, can be worked by putting a PRV (pressure reduction valve) up stream of the separator,at which point you will have Two phase going into the separator..

Email me the composition and I will send you the results..

Ofcourse,it will also work if you use a sinle stage column..

Try it..and good luck
