Catia to Solidworks help
Catia to Solidworks help
(OP)
Im designing a fixture for a part that came as a Catia file.
I imported it into solidworks, but can't find the tooling points on the model. I can see them on the drawing, so I know they are in the Catia file, but did I lose them going to solidworks?

Unless they were an actual feature in the model, I doubt they would be in the parasolid.
Could they have been added to the drawing only?
RE: Catia to Solidworks help
Am I going to have to ask my manager to ask our contact for a different format, or is there another application I can use to get this data? Is it possible to use another app to open it and then export it as a format that solidworks will read point data from? If I end up asking for another format, which should I ask for?
I know its a lot of newbish questions, but any help is appreciated :D
RE: Catia to Solidworks help
As for which format is best, it depends on the software the model was created in. Parasolid is usually the best.
RE: Catia to Solidworks help
In regards to the parasolid format, solidworks help told me it would not import point data from a x_t file. The origonal model was a Catia file, but they did not see fit to send us this model.
Your responses are appreciated.
