Turbines burning HFO?

Turbines burning HFO?

Turbines burning HFO?

(OP)
Anyone have an idea where I can find an experience list of medium/large (say >20 MW)turbines that are operating (have operated) on heavy fuel oil (#6)?

RE: Turbines burning HFO?

HI,
I have knowledge of burning HFO with gas turbines. The turbines are of the 1.2 MW catagory and not larger. For 10 MW, we could run 6 in parallel and hook it up to a steam turbine to make it a combined cycle.

regards,
AB

RE: Turbines burning HFO?

By HFO, what grade is meant?
Are we talking 180 and 380cst or back down among the intermediate fuels?
When I asked this question before in this site (but I can't find the thread) the objection was that deposits build up on the blades. Does this mean that the pre-treatment differs from that for large diesel engines?
