GT 9FA DLNII TK fans issue

GT 9FA DLNII TK fans issue

GT 9FA DLNII TK fans issue

On site we have a Gas Turbine GE 9FA DLNII. The exhasut frame of thegas turbine is cooled with inlet of air via the TK fans, exhasut frame blowers TK-1 and TK-2. What we have seens until now is the motors working to nominal current, the diverter flap stucking in the middle position. These fans take air form the machine hall and blow this air to the exhasut frame of GT. I want to ask if there is relation between the temperature and the pressure of the air in the machine hall, where these blowers suck the air and the motor current consumption.

RE: GT 9FA DLNII TK fans issue

Yes.

What is the pressure in the machine hall?

With respect to temperature, the hotter the air, the less dense it is and the fan amps will fall off because it is moving less air.

Conversely, the colder the air is, the more dense it is and the fan for the same speed and damper setting is 'pumping' more air and it takes more power to do so so the fan amps go up.

hi rmw and thanks for the answer. We noticed exactly what you say . In winter time TK fans absorb higher amps than in summer time. About the pressure i dont have specific measurement. But we have noticed that the machine hall has underpressure in comparison with the external environment and as a result machine hall sucks air from outside.
