faq559-1232

(OP)
In regards to this faq, I just tried putting the dimension name into custom properties on the configuration side and got that to work.  I entered "D1@CirPattern1@972245-4.sldprt" under the value column, D1 being the name of the instance dimension, put a name on it under the property column then linked my note in the drawing to the property name in the part.  Is there a reason what I did wouldn't work in some cases or a reason the FAQ559-1232: How to Link Part Drawing Note to Assembly Qty is better? Or am I missing the idea of FAQ559-1232: How to Link Part Drawing Note to Assembly Qty?

Thanks,
mncad
