Need advice on presure sensitive regulating switch

Need advice on presure sensitive regulating switch

(OP)
G'day.

I'm a starting out robotics engineer/inventor, and I have developed a power-assist glove that fits snugly on its user's hand. Its main advantage is that boosts its user's grip pressure sixfold by connecting to your regular car battery for juice. This is helpful when you need that extra power for wrenches, or holding an object in place while you work on it.

It uses a series of two on/off switches, one over the user's fingernail, and one under the fingertip. These regulate the direction that the force is applied, and bends the fingers. However, this glove is terrible with fine adjustments and has broken from its own pressure before. What I'm aiming to do is have the glove react to the pressure that its user applies to the switch for fine adjustments.

What is the best way to create a pressure sensitive switch that can regulate the power of a motor based on pressure applied to it? Or is there a good source that sells such switches?

RE: Need advice on presure sensitive regulating switch

You don't want a switch IMHO, you want a pressure transducer. Then you need a controller capable of interpreting the pressure signals and affecting a variable strength output. There are a myriad o suitable pressure transducers out there, some already being used in gloved hand systems. Google is your friend. I put in "gloved hand pressure transducer" and got 475,000 hits.
