exploded view in drawing

(OP)
I am working with wf 2.0 and I need to create an exploded view of an assembly in my drawing. How can I do this?

RE: exploded view in drawing

Double click on the view you want to be exploded and go to the View States tab in the View Properties dialog. When there Click the Explode components in view checkbox and pick an explode state from the list.

If an explode state currently does not exist you will see Default as the only option. There is a button for Customize Explode State which allows you to modify the default or any other explode state but these modifications are to the drawing only and do not affect the Assembly explode states.

I usually create my Explode state by opening the Assembly and using the View Manager. By doing this any modifications to the Assembly explode state will also occur in the drawing. By using the customize explode state you can prevent BOM ballons from getting messed up by changes to explode states. The state will also be renamed to Custom when you use Customize button.

RE: exploded view in drawing

I usually make explode states for the drawing in assembly mode and name them something like draw1, draw2, etc.  That way changes to the default explode state will not alter the drawing.

RE: exploded view in drawing

Another thing that helps when in assembly mode is to save an iso view such as DRW_ISO that is the same orientation as what you want to display on the drawing.

This helps out when editing the Explode State in the assembly because if you switch to your default or regular iso view your components will display in unexploded position. If you use the DRW_ISO view the components will remain in the exploded position.
