Liquid Hold-up

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I need to help our C&I guy with a control philosophy of power station boiler.

The problem we are faced with currently:
During the startup phase, how do we know if there are any condensate left in the superheaters?
How do we determine the pressure required to drive the condensate out. (must it only be equal to the pressure head of the highest water column?)

If anyone knows of a novel way to tackle this problem, please reply.

Regards
