German Book better than Roark's Stress and Strain

German Book better than Roark's Stress and Strain

(OP)
Hello people,

I have a question. I had a German finite element method lecturer that said there is a German only book with tons of loadings and solutions.

I've been learning German and would like to take a look at the book, but can't find the title of this book. The lecturer is seasonal contract lecturer and I can't contact him. I know of and use the book Roark's stress and strain formulas and have heard this book is even better.

Does anyone know of it and its title?

Regards,
George

Are you thinking of:

Giecks' Engineering Formulas

I'm not sure if it is that book. I've heard that it is German only.

I've found a review of Roark's Stress and Strain that also points to this fact:
"The only book I know better than this one is written in German and few people are able to read in German, so!"

But I will look into the book mentioned.

Thank you for pointing out that book.

I have borrowed it from my university library. Small, detailed. Almost a tiny engineering reference.

Pity it doesn't appear to have stress concentration factors, but no book is perfect.

Best regards,
George.
