12 pulse transformers
12 pulse transformers
(OP)
Hi all!
What would be the advantages of using a Dd0Dy5 double secondary transformer for a large 12 pulse ac drive instead of Dd0Dy1? Both configurations shift the Y secondary voltage waveforms 30degrees for low order harmonic elimination/reduction which is what I am looking for. I understand the Dy5 is 150dgrees thereby dislocating all the phases by one (120degrees) then 30degrees (if you understand me!).
I thank you all in anticipation.

RE: 12 pulse transformers
I'd love to participate or follow a discussion of this if I had a clue as to the item referred to as " a Dd0Dy5 double secondary transformer ". My web searches only turn up a document in German (Deutch),,,, and it's been about 30 years since I had to read anything in that language.
Perhaps a description or link would help a bit.
