Problem to apply a torque
Problem to apply a torque
(OP)
Hello,
I have an engine mount made of tube, and I would like to apply a torque due to the cantilever create by the position of the engine.
I am wondering how to apply this torque since I'am using 3D elements. Indeed 3D elements don't have rotation as degree of freedom. Consequently I can't apply a torque.
An idea was to change this torque into a force applied on this mount, but this force which is not "real" could create some deformations where it's applied.
Have you some idea to solve this problem?
Thanks for all,

RE: Problem to apply a torque
the usual way to handle situations like that is to connect the nodes which have to be "acted" by the moment to a single "Pilot Node" placed exactly on the moment's vector application point, using MultiPointConstraints (MPC) or a set of rigid links.
