Barred Tee pressure drop data

Barred Tee pressure drop data

Does anybode here have access to some data for pressure drop for a barred tee - then i would be happy if you could share it with me.

Best regards

RE: Barred Tee pressure drop data

Morton,  Sorry no, but there shouldn't be so many bars as to affect the pressure loss (significantly) more than a tee without.  I also never heard of any case where the pressure loss of a barred tee was ever a problem and I've installed a lot of them.  Is your available pressure drop so limited that it could be critical?

well the client is afraid so (not especially the tee but sums of many small losses in a subsea PLEM

RE: Barred Tee pressure drop data

I just add them all up.  If I thought there's possibility of dP at the bars, I'd do some field modifications.

Well, if the Man is worried, what can you do?  What's Bernoulli say for the increase in velocity for the area reduction including a bar shape factor (round or square)?  Assume no pressure recovery and that the dV will equal its corresponding pressure drop.

OK - will do if they think its an issue smile
