ASME Stress results for FEA

ASME Stress results for FEA

(OP)
Can someone tell me what ASME standard stesses are?

I am showing someone some FEA results as vonMises and principle stresses, but they said they would like to see ASME standard stresses. They suggested that these stresses would be bending or tensile stresses in a cross section of a part.

I believe I can show them tensile stresses in the x, y, or z direction and shear stresses in xy, yx, and xz planes.  Does this sound like what he is asking for or is it something else?

RE: ASME Stress results for FEA

Is this for a pressure vessel application?  If so, then you need to completely review ASME Section VIII, Division 2, Appendix 4.  If not, please describe the item that you are evaluating.
