Surface projection in I_DEAS

Surface projection in I_DEAS

Hi everybody!

I'd like to know if it is possible in I-DEAS any way to project a surface onto a plane following a direction given by you.

Thank's very much

Enrique

RE: Surface projection in I_DEAS

Enrique,

The command "Project" in Modeler is the only operation (other than focus) that I can think of. This command does not project an entire surface and its contour onto a plane, however, it will project all bounding edges from the surface onto a specified plane.  Projection result will be those selected edges projected onto the plane as curve or edge, using a specified vector direction (normal to surface, point to point option, etc)

Thank's very much Mike. Actually, the solution you propose me is the one I took.

Anyway, surface projection is something to improve in next version of I-DEAS.

Best Regards,

Enrique Álvarez
