Fixed Supression System on NG

Fixed Supression System on NG

(OP)
Hello again!

I am currently dealing with the protection of a plant, that has an outdoot heat recovery steam generator with an attached burner using natural gas. Natural gas, unlike oil fuel, cannot collect or create spill hazards, since because it is lighter than air, it will disperse in the atmosphere. In addition to that the piping and the rest of the equipment are installed outdoors (good and always available ventilation). Now, although the area around the burner is treated as a Hazardous Area for electrical apparatus, I cannot find anything on NFPAs stating that a fixed supression system is needed for this area. Would some gas detection and maybe some fire extinguishers cover the hazard? Is there something in NFPA 85, 850 or else that could help?

Thank you in advance!
