PDM Works vault transfer
PDM Works vault transfer
(OP)
I have a need to use PDM Works during my travel to Asia. The option of accessing the vault remotely is not a practical solution. Since I am the only one at the moment using/accessing the vault, my thought was to copy the vault on a portable drive or use my laptop drive so I can have full capabilities of vaulting features. Any feedback or comment regarding how to transfer from and to is greatly appreciated.

As administrator you will want to lock all users out of the data base while you are gone. If you are the only one using the vault this will not be a problem. Then if you do not make any changes to laptop data base you will not have to update your home base.
If you do make changes, I would think about keeping a list and checking them back into the vault once you got back. Just an idea.
Chris gave me an idea. Do you have LoJack installed on your laptop?

I totally understand the issue of security and I will be the last person to hand this data over to anyone that easy and simple.
Do you see any issues or advantages copying the vault to an external drive opposed to directly copying to my laptop?
Thanks again for the feedabck!
