Galvanized vs. galvannealed

Galvanized vs. galvannealed

Galvanized vs. galvannealed

(OP)
Is there any difference in corrosion protection for steel sheet hot-dip galvanized (zinc coated) vs. the heat-treated or "galvannealed" material that produces a zinc/Fe alloy at the surface?  The environment is indoor and possibly outdoor on commercial buildings.

RE: Galvanized vs. galvannealed

As long as they both have roughly equivalent thickness and zinc content, then there won't be much of a difference in the environments you describe.

Cory

RE: Galvanized vs. galvannealed

Galvannealed used to be a trademark (Keystone wire?), but not any longer.
Functionally there is no difference that I have ever seen.
