If you are talking about removing fairly large amounts of H2S from a gas stream, the most widely used method is by using an amine treating unit. See this website for a process flow sheet and process description:

If you are talking about removing small amounts of H2S from a wastewater stream, you could could consider dosing the stream with hydrogen peroxide, ozone, or potassium permanganate.

It is common to use NaOCl in wastewater odor control applications. Generally, these applications are for odor, not just H2S and use sodium hypochlorite.
