ACAD 2006 Reload Issue

ACAD 2006 Reload Issue

ACAD 2006 Reload Issue

(OP)
We recently underwent a system update "push" from corporate I-T. A major component of the "push" was O-S updates (we're still on -XP) but some corporate stuff as well.

The next day one of our computers booted and ran fine, but the ACAD menus were gone. We checked out browse under menuload to peek at what might be the problem, and most of the Support directory under ADESK-ACAD-2006 was just simply gone. We looked the long way by wooorking down thru my computer... and sure enough, it was gone. We copied the missing content from another PC configured "identically", with a measure of success. The menus are back, and load as expected, but VERY slowly, All drop-downs take FOREVER (2+ minutes!?) to load, but run reliably. Then when re-accessed, the same drop-down takes the same amount of time to load, but then runs.

ACAD itself seems to run just fine, and loaded command routines seem to run just fine, even if they have to be pulled from storage and loaded into memory first.

We felt that a simple re-install would solve the problem, but with ADESK's current licensing policies, this may now be impossible.

Any thoughts as to how I might solve the problem w/out a reinstall or being forced to upgrade, according to current A-Desk policy?

Tks-
