TANK ROOFS

TANK ROOFS

TANK ROOFS

(OP)
I AM SEARCHING FOR SOME OPTIMIZATION RESULTS FOR FIXED TANK ROOFS WITH PYLONS FOR TANKS D>80 m
I AM USING API 650 AND EC3 CODES.
I FOUND A SOLUTION
BUT I NEED TO FIND MORE FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE MY DESIGN
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
COSTAS TSAPROUNIS

RE: TANK ROOFS

I'm not sure exactly what you're after.  In the design of cone roofs, the layout of the supporting structure is normally optimized based on construction economics, and is highly variable depending on location, contractor, and equipment and materials available.

RE: TANK ROOFS

(OP)
hank you for the advises
I did not want to be rude.
Sorry
I have designed some cone roofs for tanks with pylons.
The recent one in D=85 m. The material is S275 or St-44 EN10025.
What i am searching for is for publications or a parametric analysis that can give me information about the variation in construction and material cost of a roof for different kinds of designs.
I am trying to build an optimizer and link it with NASTRAN and SAAP 2000. For this reason i need to form my objective function which  means ecomonic an strength criteria.
So previous experience will be great help for me.

RE: TANK ROOFS

I think the problem you will have is that the optimization will be completely dependent upon the internal processes and properties of a particular fabricating and erecting company.
