I am trying to get a better knowledge of flame characteristics for various soild, liquid and gaseous fuels, including hog. Does anyone know a good source (s)?

What do you mean by "flame characteristic"? Are you talking jet shape, shock waves, chromatographic analysis, noise levels?

and flame temp,fuel types, colour, profile, chemistry of combustion, troubleshooting, etc...
I am putting a course together for experienced techs.

Try "North American Combustion Handbook" Vol. 1-Combustion, Fuels, Stoichiometry, Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow.
