Would anybody know if there is a chemical reaction in
cylinder bore between steam and hydrocarbons( left over
from previous burn). If water is injected with heated and recompressed gases, would there be an action called reforming. Would gases like co,co2,nox be recombined to make heavier percipitates. What percentage of exhaust is
co,co2,nox,and pm be in a teir 11 ci engine.

A classic reaction involving steam and carbon is the water gas reaction. Reaction products are hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

       If you have a nickel catalyst,  the reactions need the temperature to be above about 980 Kelvin.
