NX4: Is it possible to assign a weight to a component?

NX4: Is it possible to assign a weight to a component?

(OP)
Good morning all,
I have a mockup test fixture that is designed to replicate the actual assembly. Instead of packing the boxes with actual hardware, I am using "dummy" boxes. I would like to assign a weight to the boxes at the assembly level for the purpose of establishing the CG. Is there a way to do this without having to go to the individual part files (which are numerous) and playing with the solid density?
Thanks,
'ziner.

RE: NX4: Is it possible to assign a weight to a component?

Search on the terms 'weight management' and 'assert values' in the help files (assembly help). I think in NX2 you needed to have an advanced assemblies license to do this, not sure about NX4.

In UGS NX 4, you will need an Advanced Assemblies license to access Weight Management.

Hi John,

I have an Advanced Assemby license. Where do I go from here?

Thanks,

Go to Analysis -> Advanced Mass Properties -> Advanced Weight Management...

Now if you can't find those menu items, you may have to change to a 'role' that includes the 'full menus'.
