NX4: Can't edit boundary of Break Out Section.

NX4: Can't edit boundary of Break Out Section.

(OP)
Break Out Section is a handy function, but I'm having difficulty moving or otherwise editing the boundary spline. I also tried to delete the break out, so as to make a new one, but I can't do that either. Does anyone here know how to change the boundary or edit it?

RE: NX4: Can't edit boundary of Break Out Section.

OK, go to Insert -> View -> Break-Out Section View and if you have only ONE break-out on your drawing when you select the 'Edit' option it will automatically be selected.  If you are not changing the section point or direction, but just the boundary, select the last icon on the Right, titled 'Modify Boundary Curves.  When you do, you will note that the boundary curves will automatically be shown with edit points (spline knot points and line end points).  Now here is where I suspect you're having problems.  Contrary to what you might think, in this case rather than holding down the cursor and dragging the points, you have to explicitly select the point and then with the cursor button up and you can drag the points to form a new boundary, pressing the cursor to actually place the point at a new location.

Now I'll admit that this is both non-standard and not very intuitive behavior, but that's the way it is, at least for the time being.  And before anyone asks, this particular behavior has NOT changed in NX 5, but I'm sure that it's on the list for a future update.
