USTs installation cost estimate

USTs installation cost estimate

USTs installation cost estimate

By now most folks in here can tell this is my first job:> I am in need of information on acquiring current Underground Storage Tank installation estimates.
For varied size tanks 550g,1000, up to 10,000g.
If this info includes ASTs that would be good.

Varied uses diesel, heating oil, gasoline storage and dispensing..

Are there any websites that people have used that is helpful.

Here are a couple of ideas to try that might find the information you are looking for:

1.  There are a number of tank manufacturers that have websites, try a keyword search.  Generally, they are willing to give budget numbers for various tank installations, you must give them some specifics about your proposed use. The cost of the tank installations varies widely by state, accessories and metal tanks vs. poly tanks.

2.  There are a number of enviornmental firms around the country that specialize in tank removal.  A local one would most likely have information on tank manufacturers.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice!!!...if u ever run into any literature (if any has been written) that can give me the basics for these estimates and such please let me know. I like knowing what I am doing before relying on contractors and vendors...they usually want more money..when my job is to save client money.

I think you will find that the good vendors and contractors generally have the most up to date information regarding costs, availablility and codes.  I know this is not what you or I heard in engineering school but, it is a fact.  Yes, there are some of incompetent suppliers and contractors, but as you go through your career, you will find the same is true about some engineers too.  Remember, not everything you need to know in your engineering job can be found in a book or code!

Cost information on any aspect of construction is most accurate when coming from the people who have to make their living being right about it.

Good luck in the future.
