Mouse Button Programming

(OP)
I am working in  Autocad LT 2007 after a long break.
When I launch a new drawing or open an existing drawing
the left button is pre programmed to prompt for next point of a window.
I want to reprogram the left mouse button for enter key.
Would any  reader of this forum, please show me where I can find the instructions for programming mouse buttons?
Thanks
Sam

RE: Mouse Button Programming

Hiya Sam,

If you're using Windows XP, I don't mean to sound patronising, but have you checked that the Start / Control Panel / Mouse Properties dialogue box's first Tab (Buttons) has all the boxes on it un-ticked? This can switch between the left and right mouse buttons, you might want to experiment with this option to get your left key acting as enter.

I use an AutoCAD 2005 version (for my sins), if 2007 is similar, then the only route I know for changing the settings within the program aswell is Tools/Options/'User Preferences' tab/Right Click Customisation. You might want to check that on the 'User Preferences' tab, both the 'Windows Standard Behaviour' buttons are ticked.

On the 'Right Click Customisation' dialogue box - check that right click doesn't mean ENTER you can change Pan settings by typing 'mbuttonpan' into the command line

Regards

Same question - sort of:

Upgraded from 2006 to 2008.  The new right-click default wasn't what I wanted, so followed the above procedure.  Now works fine except:

1. I want Properties to be on the shortcut menu that pops up.

2. When text is highlighted, I want the option for text edit to come up.

Anyone know how to set it?

Thanks,

Also, for the mouse wheel ... go to Tools/Options, under "Window Elements" uncheck the box for "Display scroll bars in drawing window" then "OK". You can them zoom within a window using the mouse wheel.
