RE: Sign at the train station
RE: Sign at the train station
How many days does it take to close?
How do you close stairs?
The brain fills in hidden details.
Hard hats must be worn: get yourself a hard hat.
Dogs must be carried: get yourself a dog?
The brain intuitely understands!
If there is more than one stairway, why not fix them one at a time, thus keeping access open.
That's all in addition to the obvious: how do you improve access by denying access?
RE: Sign at the train station
A word and meaning-twisting originating from PR people trying to convince you that every thing your supplier does to earn more mony, increasing prices or cutting down on service, is to your advantage.
Examples received lately:
...To your advantage you will get the reports by internet from now on. (Meaning: we are cutting down on printing and postal cost. If you want it in writing you have to do something at your own inconvenience and cost)
...We are making your electrical bill more simple, and giving a firm and lower additive price per watt used (Meaning: we do not want to tell you that we at the same time increased the firm starting charge per month so much that you will have to pay a higher total..)
...Our car insurance is favorably competitive priced on the market (Meaning: ...But only if you increase your self-covered part by 12% in our new ladder, and we are not telling established customers this by renewal, we want to keep them at the older, unfavorably priced level)
Others?

RE: Sign at the train station
Meaning: closing forever, for 6 months, for 2 weeks, for one day, what?
I have written several times, asked to put est date, or clarification. Paraphrasing the states response: we get too many complaints if the finish date runs over, so we dont' put dates. My question: add to the date, if done sooner, great. There response: takes too much space on the sign.
My conclusion: we really don't want to be responsible to you inconvenient taxpayers. We have the power, you don't.
RE: Sign at the train station
On telephone, seeking information from my local taxation authorities office, I once reminded them that I was a regular customer of theirs.... I didn't exactly get an improved degree of service by the remark
