how to use explode command

how to use explode command

how to use explode command

(OP)
I have a dwg made in Acad LT 2007.
I have inserted a few Acad LT 2007 dwgs in it.
I am trying to explode these using the explode icon on a tool bar. These insered dwgs would not explode.
On right clicking on these I came to know these have external reference. I really do not want to keep external reference but want to explode these as I could in prior Acad releases. Could anyone tell me how to accomplish this task?
Thanks
sam

RE: how to use explode command

You want to BIND them to the drawing first (as an INSERT). Once they are "bound" in the drawing, you can explode them.

Thank you Borgunit,
I appreciate your reply,
I clicked on an inserted dwg to high-lite it.
Then right clicked anywhere on the blank area of the dwg .
On the list of external references that pop up, I right clicked on each item of this list.
and clicked in “Bind” Box. The other option was to select “Insert” box.
This broke all external references and I was able to explode each block as I wanted.
Thanks,
Sams
