Pipe Hanger Rod - Material

(OP)
Does anyone know what the material is for the Grinnell threaded rod fig 140?  I have an 8' piece to replace.  I would like to have it made locally and need to specific the material.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Pipe Hanger Rod - Material

With referencee to MSS SP-58-2002, Pipe Hangers and Supports - Material, Design and Manufacture, the material for rods should be ASTM A36 or ASTM A108 cold finished.

ASTM A36 is most common.
