Exploded View - Best Practices

Exploded View - Best Practices

(OP)
Does anyone have any advice as to the best way to create exploded views?

I recently spent a few hours creating one in an assembly with configurations.  The configs were DT driven.  I had to change the config names and ultimately lost my exploded view.  Before I start again I figured i would throw this question out there.

Thanks.

RE: Exploded View - Best Practices

You can right-click on a configuration and select "Add Exploded View."  Sometimes if I want more than one exploded view, I will add duplicate configurations and make a new view for each.

Hope that helps.

RE: Exploded View - Best Practices

You can only have one exploded view per config. As Dan said, multiple configs will allow you to create multiple exploded views. Once the exploded view is created, it shouldn't disappear if you change the name of the config. That seems odd to me.
