AutoCAD2005 Refusing to 'Save As'

AutoCAD2005 Refusing to 'Save As'

AutoCAD2005 Refusing to 'Save As'

(OP)
I'm working on a fairly small sized 3D Model, i'm trying to 'Save as', after hitting the escape button a few times, my AutoCAD 2005 is flashing up the message;

'Document "******" has a command in
progress.
Hit enter to cancel or [Retry]:

If I type 'R' or 'Retry' it makes no difference, then if again press escape a few times and attempt the 'Save As' command again, exactly the same message flashes up as above.

I end up having to overwrite the file by hitting the 'close' cross at the top right of the window, which then gives a 'save' option, which I often don't want to have to do.

It's not the first time this has happened, I have found the same issue on other machines using newer versions of AutoCAD. Does anyone else experience this problem, and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Hello Exxit,

I do use the orbit command, but I hadn't just before attempting to save.

Surely the use of the escape button should have cancelled such a command anyway?

RE: AutoCAD2005 Refusing to 'Save As'

AutoAngst,

there's no solution. It's a bug. Maybe to install the Service Pack can help.
The workaround with the close-icon (x) is the only chance...
