Found bug to exploit DMU sectioning (without license) in R17

Found bug to exploit DMU sectioning (without license) in R17

OK, so all of you out there who do no not have DMU sectioning - you know how annoying it can be to use the sections function, and only be able to view it on the screen, but not be able to store your outputs, right?  Well, there's a bug in R17 that makes a nice little exploit of this situation.

Very simply, when sectioning in Assembly workbench, tile your windows, (you must have at least one other open) and activate some other window.  Make it full size.  Do nothing in that workspace.  Now, tile them again, and activate the assembly that you were attempting to section.  Hit "cancel" in the sectioning function.

The yellow sectioning plane will remain after cancel, but so will the section lines. (or the red X box, if you are doing a volumetric section)  Of course, they won't update, but you can do this as many times as you wish...

Hopefully, I understand everything about non-DMU sectioning correctly.  If not, someone please tell me.  I've been trying to capture sections output unsuccessfully on non-DMU assembly analyses for a few years now. purpleface

Solid7, same thing with R16. I discovered this few months ago when we upgrade form R15 to R16.

Thanks for the update.  I haven't seen anyone else post it yet, so my apologies if you had mentioned it.  But thank you for the update - nice to know that it also works on R16.

I have found this to be a very helpful bug.
