Placing stamps on drawings (such as 'confidential')

Placing stamps on drawings (such as 'confidential')

Placing stamps on drawings (such as 'confidential')

(OP)
Hi, I recently went to a solidworks seminar where the lecturer showed a drawing and added a 'confidential' stamp from a library of similar stamps. Is this a feature within Solidworks as I cannot seem to find it?

sixmillionways,

We use blocks for this type of application.  I don't know of any "stamps" like you would find in Adobe or Bluebeam, maybe someone else does.

I create WORD ART in MICROSOFT WORD... then copy/paste that to my drawings...

You can make some cool attention-getting "stamps" that way.

You can create your own within a dwg, then save as a block.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions!

Very much appreciated smile

RE: Placing stamps on drawings (such as 'confidential')

You can also create custom stamps in Adobe Acrobat PDF, under Tools->Stamp, then basically you just create a PDF of the word/stamp or cutting an image that you use a lot to the desired size, color, etc and you can easily place those on PDF's after you print the drawing, if you print them to PDF that is...

Another method is to use a sheet format w/ an image 'sent to background' (image = stamp). When the stamp is req'd, just update the dwg to the appropriate sheet format.

(Works well for "approved" stamps, esp in conjunction with automatic date update...)
