Fire Water Jockey Pump Electrical Supply

Fire Water Jockey Pump Electrical Supply

Fire Water Jockey Pump Electrical Supply

(OP)
My project involves upgrading an existing industrial fire water system. I am adding a diesel powered pump and two electric jockey pumps ( all with controllers ) to a system which has an existing primary electic pump and two backup diesel pumps.

Are the electrical wiring code requirements for the fire water jockey pumps/controllers exactly the same as those for a main electric fire water supply pump/controller?  i.e. Power source, wiring, controller placement?

RE: Fire Water Jockey Pump Electrical Supply

NFPA 20, section 9.1.1 states that the requirements are for fire pumps. A jockey pump is a pressure maintenance pump and is regulated by the requirements in NFPA 20, Chapter 5. Therefore it is not subject to the requirements in Chapter 9.
